On Sunday, 30 August 2026, about 20 people gathered for Greenbelt, Maryland’s first (2-part) Native Plant Garden Walking Tour, in Boxwood Village and North GHI.
Hosts Tanja Owe and Catherine Plaisant led the groups through about 10 private gardens and public plantings, where everyone met their fellow native plant enthusiasts as they shared their work with the group. Highlights included pawpaw trees bearing fruit and a water feature containing leopard frogs and a thriving population of (tiny) freshwater clams that birds introduced!
