Insects are an important part of the food web. They are the most significant link between plants and animals because they are consumed by so many different species. In fact, they are the sole food source for many birds, amphibians, and reptiles. Gardening for wildlife means providing for insects. If insects are damaging your plants, then you are doing something right! Remember, native insects and native plants have co-evolved, which is why native insects rarely cause irreparable harm. Your native plants will thrive anyway!
